Since tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo (Mexico's 4th of July) I want you to create an advertisement on Publisher for a fictitious Mexican Restaurant that you own. Pair Up and Open up Microsoft Publisher, and click on Publications for Print, and then find Advertisements. Click on this and find a black and white advertisement you like.

Then click on this link http://www.home-remedies-for-you.com/ . This is a website of home remedies that cure all types of illnesses. Make a ficticious product from one of the remedies naming it whatever you want, and create an advertisement for it. Use the template that publisher gives you, but put color on it, and put in the appropriate things that the advertising tempalte asks for. It can be for an appendicitis, chicken pox, or whatever. Look at the list on the left and pick out a remedy and make a fake product. Be creative with the name and the advertisement. Add pictures and color.....

Make sure to go to Page Setup and set it to full page before you print! THen Turn In!

Using Publisher, I want you to create an advertisement/flyer for an existing hotel/casino in Las Vegas (The Mirage, Mandalay Bay, The Palms, MGM Grand, etc.) Think of brochures or advertisements you've seen in magazine and try to use the same type of layout. You are trying to make these resorts look appealing to the customer.

March 3 - LOCATION!!!!!!

Location is a vital part to having a successful business. Putting your product in front of the customer is the main idea of business.

In this assignment, I want you to get with your group, and narrow down your location to one spot. I DO NOT WANT HILLIARD, FERNANDINA BEACH, OR JACKSONVILLE AS AN OPTION!!!!! Find a location that is suitable and search real estate in that area.

If you are opening a clothing store, find a mall or strip mall in the area. If you are opening an assembly line, find space in the industrial section of town.

The point is to Google and research open locations in the market you are looking to enter. I want you to go through and find me a location, how much the location will cost, the size of the location, and contact information. If a price isn't listed, call the number, or send an email inquiring about it.

On Microsoft Word, Print your Company name, members, location, price, and contact information. I then want you to summarize why you chose this location. This is the only location you will use in the group project.

Format the Microsoft Excel Chart with the following:

-Cells B3-G3 should be titled the first six months of the year. (ex. January, February....etc).
-Cell H3 should be titled Total
-Cell I3 should be titled Price per Bar
-Cell J3 should be titled Total Earnings
-Cells A4-A9 Should be Titled as follows: Sticky Bumps, Mrs. Palmers, Magma, BubbleGum, Phil's Organic, Sex Wax
-Bold All of your titles
-Cell A10 should be titled Total

Once you have the titles in, use the following formulas:
-In Cells H4-H9 you should use the AutoSum function and find the totals
-In Cells B10 - G10 you should use the AutoSum function and find the totals
-In Cells J4 - J9 you should use the multiplication formula =(H4*I4) then drag the formula down through J9
-Use the AutoSum or addition formula in Cell J10

Now you can format the chart!
-The Title Should be Gnarley Charley's Surf Shop in 20-26 size font, your choice on design.
-The subtitle should be First Half Year Surf Wax Sales in 16-18 size font
-These headings should be merged and centered
-Use whatever color background and font you want.
-Highlight cells A3-J10 and use the Autoformat function of "List 3"
-Once you do this, go back over and highlight cells I4-J10 and go back to the autoformat function and use the Accounting 1 Format Style
-Click on Cell J10 and color it with Neon Yellow because that is your total amount of sales.

Today I want you to blog on whatever you want. Think of any topic, just try and write about whatever you are feeling, or whatever is going on in your world. You can talk about what you are doing this weekend, or what you have going on later today. Just take the time to go over your own thoughts and type them out. Take the time to customize your blog as well. Change the backgroud. I also want you to follow my blog so I can keep track of your work more easily.

Go to google.com and type in blogger widgets to add widgets to the side of the page. I will walk around and help you if you can't figure out how to add them. Customize the blog! Get your profile done completely! I'll be grading tomorrow!

For Today's Blog, I want you to go through and write about what you're expectation for the 3rd Nine Weeks are. What are you looking forward to? What are you dreading? I want you to write two paragraphs. The first is what you think a blog is and how it can be used in our class. Do you think it's lame, boring, cool, or ______? Fill in the blank. Don't try to be too cool and say it's lame. Think about what we are doing and compare it to other classes and see what you think.On paragraph two, I want you to write about how you think a blog could be useful in other classes that you have. Would you like to see this in other classes, or do you think it would be a waste of time? Do you think other teachers would be able to do this in their class.

Basically I want your opinion on what a blog is, how it is used, and what we can do with this. Remember I am going to be grading these so the more content you have, the better your grade is. I want you to put effort into this, because you are working on your own, and I am grading your thoughts. There are no right or wrong answers.
